Term 3 Week 4

What a busy first few weeks back Room 1 and 2 have had! Here is what we have been doing so far this term:

We have had Gerry the caretaker come into class and help us chop down the table legs to make new kneeling floor tables for us. We learnt all about how important it is to measure, rule and the cut the legs to make sure the legs are all the same length and the table isn't wobbly.

We have also been doing some fantastic writing this term and we all have been excited to display this around the classroom. We all wrote some amazing stories about our adventures in the snow on our school snow day.

We had a great time at Cross Country on the 7th August. We all ran so fast and did a fantastic job!

We have also been learning about the seasons and weather. We have made some great art inspired by the weather outside. We have been talking about all the different clothes we wear for the different seasons and how different animals come out at different times of the year.

Term 2 - Week 1 and 2

Term 2 - Week 1 and 2

WOW! What a busy 2 weeks to start off Term 2!
We continue to welcome new students into our class and they are fitting into our room so well, learning the ropes of what school is all about and having such good roles models to set the expectation.

                                                        LEAVES, LEAVES, LEAVES
We started the term talking about our change in weather. What was happening? Why was it getting so cold? AUTUMN!!!! What happens in Autumn? "It's snowing leaves!" "The leaves fall off the trees because they have died."
We spent some time talking about the seasons, the difference in clothing between Summer and Autumn, the foods we start to eat as the weather cools down and the weather change: rain, fog, frost.
We went on an adventure outside to explore the leaves using our senses: look, feel, sound and smell - we could only imagine what they tasted like!

We then wrote some AMAZING stories about our experience with the leaves. You can find these on our wall in the classroom.

ANZAC ASSEMBLY
Last Thursday we held our ANZAC assembly to remember our soldiers who had fallen. We sang songs, listened to the older children and Mr Mclachlan share stories about our ANZAC's and learnt a lot from them! Miss Marriott and Miss Morrell were super impressed by the beautiful singing and reading of the crosses from our class.

RIPPA RUGBY
On Tuesday we had our Rippa Rugby Fun Day! There were a lot of nervous but excited children in our class. We know all of the children are proud of themselves for giving Rippa a go! Here are some photos for you to enjoy!

We have had a fantastic time this week in Room 1 & 2. We have have investigating how heat makes crystals dissolve faster in hot water compared to cold. We made Jelly and were surprised at how slowly the jelly dissolved in cold water.

We had a great time on Friday taste testing our jelly with a little ice cream. We then thought about how the jelly tasted, moved and felt while we were eating it.

writing was great and everyone was so proud of their efforts writing independently.
